Vertical

Made for the phone.
Not cropped onto it.

TikTok, Reels and Shorts are timelines in their own right. 9:16, 1:1 and 4:5, with each app’s interface drawn on the preview while you cut.

Native canvases

Open a 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5 sequence. Titles, effects and the viewer are in that frame from the first cut. You are not cropping a landscape timeline on the way out.

Platform safe zones

Turn on the overlay for TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts. Username, caption block, like column and the bottom description are drawn on the preview. Move type until it clears them.

Auto reframe

Mark a face, a product or the action. When a 16:9 interview becomes vertical, the frame follows. Pin a line if it should hold, then let it travel again. Every keyframe stays editable.

Templates

Hook, list, talking head, product demo, before and after, podcast clip, tutorial step, split reaction, duet stack, and a quote card. Drop your media into the slots. Free includes the starter set. Creator and Pro open the full library.

Kinetic captions

Word-by-word highlight, line builds, and type sized for a phone. Styles save with the project so a daily series stays consistent, and they stay inside the safe zone you turned on.

Auto zoom

On a talking-head template, Night Sterling can punch in on the line that carries the point, then return to the wide. Delete any zoom you do not want. The others stay.

Split layouts

Two shots stacked, a reaction beside the main, or a podcast pair that was recorded wide and now has to live on a phone. Layouts are templates inside the timeline, not a separate mode.

One master, three files

On Creator and Pro, a 16:9 timeline can publish vertical, square and 4:5 adaptations that share the edit. Change a word once. Each ratio keeps its own reframe.

Series kits

A recurring lower third, episode number, progress bar and end card, so a daily series looks like one show. Included with the full template library on Creator and Pro.

Covers and end cards

Set the cover frame, and an end card that holds long enough for a profile tap. Sizes follow the canvas you are in, not a generic 16:9 slate.

Length and loudness

The export panel warns at 15 seconds, 60 seconds, 90 seconds, 3 minutes and 10 minutes. Loudness is checked against common platform targets before the file is written.

Export sizes

Free writes 1080×1920, 1080×1080 and 1080×1350 H.264. Creator and Pro add 4K vertical, higher bitrates, and a batch of every ratio in one pass.

01

Pick the canvas

9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. 1:1 or 4:5 when the post lives in a feed. The safe-zone overlay matches the app.

02

Drop a template or reframe

Start from a hook, a list or a talking head, or send a finished 16:9 interview through auto reframe and fix the keyframes.

03

Check, then export

Captions clear the like column. Length and loudness are in range. Free writes 1080p. Creator and Pro can batch the other ratios.

On the timeline

The phone frame is the sequence

  • Safe zones update when you switch the preset from TikTok to Reels to Shorts.
  • Captions from the AI tools land inside that zone, including word-by-word styles.
  • A 16:9 master can stay the archive. The vertical cut is a sequence of its own, or an adaptation on Creator and Pro.
  • Export is 1080×1920 on Free. 4K vertical stays with Creator and Pro.
